    'BATTLES ...
Beulah, d. of Jeremiah and Hannah, Dec. 31, 1763.'

Mendon Vital Records give birth dates for Beulah and and her sister Comfort as 31 Dec 1763 and 13 Sep 1763 respectively. This is clearly not possible. Most compilers have assumed that Comfort was the younger (possibly all following one leader, and possibly based on the fact that she remained with her father the longest), and put her birth date as 1765 instead. However, the pattern of births in this family suggests that a gap of 27 months (Sep 1763 to Dec 1765) is more likely than one of 21 months (Dec 1763 to Sep 1765). Also, Beulah's husband was born Jul 1768, and it seems more likely that Beulah was 2 1/2 years older than him than 4 1/2 years older than him. Therefore, without access to more primary records at this time, I have chosen to reverse the assumption made by most compilers, and assign 1765 as Beulah's birth year. This, of course, could be incorrect.
