    Bettye Axe

    Sweetwater---Bettye Axe, 71, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital. Graveside services 1 p.m. Saturday in Sweetwater Cemetery with Rev. Allen Brooks officiating, directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater.

    Mrs. Axe was born June 30, 1930 in Sweetwater. She married Mac Axe on Aug.27, 1956 in Midland. She worked for eight years as a Repair Clerk for Southwestern Bell; was a member of Highland Heights United Methodist Church; and member of Eastern Star.

    She was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Viser and her parents, Austin and Maie Viser.

    Survivors include her husband, Mac Axe of Sweetwater; two daughters, Vickie Builta and Dana Neagle, both of Midland; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
