    Betty B. Allwine, 93, of Hummelstown died Wednesday, January 25, 2012 in Spring Creek Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Harrisburg.
    Born September 7, 1918 in Greensburg, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Gerta (Thornblade) Bowman.
    A retired teacher from Westmoreland County Intermediate Unit, she was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hummelstown, and a volunteer at the Hershey Medical Center, Hummelstown Food Bank, and Lower Dauphin School District.
    She was the widow of Charles Richard "C.R." Allwine on October 3, 2002 and also preceded in death by daughter Karen A. Showden and siblings Paul Bowman, Esther Johnson, Adelia Kuhn, and Luella Glunt.
    Surviving are her son Kenneth B., husband of Connie Allwine of Hummelstown; son-in-law Ira W. Showden of Liverpool, New York; sister Lenore DeJaiffe of Greensburg; grandchildren Kenneth R., husband of Eileen Allwine, Krista, wife of Jason Allen, and Brett M., husband of Tricia Allwine; and 3 great grandchildren.
    Services will be held at the convenience of the family with interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
    Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 West Main Street, Hummelstown, PA 17036.
