Dallas, Sept. 10---Betty Blum Marcus, civic leader and widow of Edward S. Marcus, former board chairman of Neiman-Marcus, died Sunday of cancer at her home here.
She was 61 years old.
Mrs. Marcus was best known for her patronage of the arts and her civic activities. She was president of the Dallas Parksand Recreation Board. The park planned around the new symphony hall in the Dallas Arts District is to be named for her, according to Jane Roberts, a spokesman for the company.
In 1969 the chain of stores merged with Carter Hawley Hale.
Funeral services are scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday at Temple Emanuel in Dallas.
