     , NIX, grandson, M, W, 18, S, Al, Al, Al, Farmer,

Who is the grandson? Lee would have been 40 when he was born, not impossible but a bit of a push. I do not have any records of Lee being married before but possible? See if I a\can find and 8 year old Nix males inthe 1920 De Kalb County Census. THIS IS NOT THE CORRECT ITEM.

I ATTEMPTED A COPY AND PASTE BUT DID A PASTE OF OTHER MATERIAL OVER THE DATA HERE!

Always willing to assist and share. So many people have done nice things for me sharing their family histories that I want to do the same for others whose paths I cross. I had a book on the Roden family printed in 1979, so acquired information on the Nix women who intermarried into the Roden family. The three Nix sisters (on whom I have information) are:

1. Beulah J. Nix ,b. 9 Apr. 1902, DeKalb Co., Ala ,d. 11 Sep. 1999,__________ (she was a resident of Crossville, Ala., when she died),bur. Mt. Pleasant Cem.,about four miles south of Crossville. She md. 2 May 1920, Crossville, Ala., to Bud Rogers Roden,1880-1971. They had two daughters: Hazel Wonease Roden who died as an infant, and Wanda Ruth Roden, who was living when her mother died and at that time she was still unmarried. I have information on Bud and Hazel.

2.Ella E. Nix, b. 16 Mar 1904 ,DeKalb Co., Ala., d. 11 May 1983, Gadsden,Ala. ,bur. Belchers Chapel Cem., about 7 to 8 miles south of Crossville, in DeKalb Co., but not far from the Etowah Co. line. She md. 16 Nov 1919,DeKalb Co. ,Ala., to Jerry Lamar Roden, 1894-1982,a first cousin to the above mentioned Bud Roden. Seven children. I have informationon Jerry and the seven grandchildren and on some of the grandchildren.

3.Camie Odessa Nix,b.4 Feb.1906, DeKalb co.,Ala., d. 22 Dec 1943,Gadsden, Ala., bur. Belchers Chapel Cem. She md. 21 Mar 1922,DeKalb Co., Ala., to Willie Ester Roden, a brother to Jerry and first cousin to Bud. Four children two daughters and two sons. The sons are dead not certain about the daughters.

I know of one additional child for Lee Nix, a son Reuben Nix,who was liste as a surviving brother in Ella Nix Rodens obituary. He was living in Crossville when Ella did in 1983.

I have some addresses taken off the Internet for two of Ella s children and one of her grandsons . I had contact with the grandson about five years ago. He was interested in his Roden Family History; perhaps he is also interested in his Nix history too.

Jessie E. Roden, 329 Bloodworth Rd, Boaz AL 35956 son of Ella and Jerry.

Charles D. Roden, 3748 Hood Lane, Gadsden, AL 35907 son of Amon Odell Roden who was son of Ella and Jerry.

Mrs Willie Kilgore,182 County Road 380,Boaz AL 35957 Florence Eulene Roden, dau of Ella and Jerry.

From:DaltonJ.Nix[1] Sent:Thursday,August07,20036:27PM To:LesWaltman Subject:Re:LeeNix Les, Thanks for the response. It certainly sound like you have my family. I had been told by some other members of the family that I should look in DeKalb County, but I could never identify the correct person. In fact i was never sure just what name he used. The answer is YES I would appreciate any information that you can supply on this family. I have had problems following the family. The Father, Thomas B. Nix was dead when his Mothers will was read in Oct of 1877. He was very young, only 28. I have not been able to determine the conditions associated with his early death. That left the wife with several small children, and I have not been able to trace them. I would appreciate any assistance that you could supply. I will attempt to follow up on what you have supplied, and search the DeKalb County Census records.

Recently, I noticed your listing of Leondus (Lee) Nix, b. abt 1874, Blount Co., Ala., on Rootsweb's World Connect. I think I may have some information to help you on this person. If he is the same man, Lee Nix died Apr. 1937, DeKalb Co., Ala. He md. Artie (Arty) Jones, and she died Jan 1931, DeKalb Co., Ala. Three of their daughters, Bessie, Ella and Camie Odessa, married Roden men. Ella and Odessa's husbands were brothers and Beulah was a first cousin to them. I have more on these three daughters if it of any interest. All three have living children.
