  4. Mrs. Bertha Hoffman Found Dead of Heart Attack at Residence
    City police summoned by a neighbor, found Mrs. Bertha Hoffman, 68, dead at her home, 914 Sherman street about 8 o'clock last night.
    Dr. M M. Steward, coroner, said that death was due to a heart attack suffered sometime Sunday evening.
    Mrs. Hoffman, who lives alone, was last seen Sunday afternoon. When neighbors noticed that her lights had burned all night and all day yesterday, they called police. She was found lying fully dressed on her bed.
    Born in Cass County, she was the daughter of James and Mary Rinehart Parmeter. Her husband, William I. Hoffman, passed away June 20, 1949.
    Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Edith Carney, South Bend, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, five brothers: Edward, George, and Ray, city, Lee, route 3, city, and Guy, Akron, O; and two sisters; Mrs. Ruth Johnson, Peru, and Mrs. Elda Shaffer, rural route, Walton.
    The body was removed to the McCloskey-Hamilton funeral home. Final rites are pending.
    Funeral rites for Mrs. Bertha Hoffman, 68, of 914 Sherman street, will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the McCloskey-Hamilton chapel, with burial made in Mt. Hope cemetery. The body is at the funeral home where friends may call. Pharos-Tribune - Logansport
