Berta (Hull) Coon 1883-1966 "The Milton Courier", Milton, Wisconsin, Thursday, May. 5, 1966, p 9. Mrs. Fay B. Coon, 82, resident of Milton, died Sunday morning, May 1, in Mercy Hospital, Janesville, following a brief illness. She was the widow of Fayette B. Coon, Rock County school supervisor 1941-49, and an educator and administrator in various public and high schools for more than 40 years. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, in the Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church, Rev. Elmo Randolph officiating, with burial in the family lot in the Milton Cemetery. The former Berta Hull was born Nov. 16, 1883, in Harmony Township, the last surviving child of Pioneer settlers Richard and Jennie Buirley Hull. She was married to Fay B. Coon on Oct. 14, 1901 in Lima Center. She and the late Mr. Coon marked their 60th wedding anniversary in 1961. He died June 12, 1963. She was a life member of the Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church. Long a writer of poetry, of which many had been accepted and published, one appeared this month in the NRTA Journal. Surviving are a son, Garrelt (Jarry), Burbank, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. William (Genevieve) Jensen of West Allis, and Margaret, at home; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
