Captain By 1816, he commanded the first packet-sloop, the _Juno_ (a vessel of considerable size for her class, and well fitted for passengers,) making regular trips between Southold and New York; and continued in command of successive packets until 1852, after which he was a substantial and respected farmer at Southold (Griffin's Journal).
