    "Benjamin4 Upson (Stephen3, Stephen2, Thomas1). Born August 4, 1720, Waterbury. Died November 23, 1792, Northbury Parish, Waterbury. … Lieut. Benjamin Upson was a member of the Society of Northbury in Waterbury which formed a military company and chose officers July 4, 1776, and volunteered that day. He was a corporal in Capt. Camp's Company in Col. Noadiah Hooker's Regiment stationed at Peekskill at Barracks No. 3. Not only did he serve in the Revolutionary War, but also all six sons went to the defense of their country."
