1901 - With parents and sister at 4 Reculver Rd, St Pauls Deptford. Benjamin TAYLOR, aged 4, born at Rotherhithe, London.

1914-1918 - Benjamin TAYLOR served with 16th Queens Lancers before the age of 18yrs. He entered the 1914-18 war under age with the royal artillery as a driver on horse. He enlisted under the name Henry BAKER.

He deserted the army to join his father in the Navy. He was later taken to court for desertion but was let off as he was still fighting the war. (Taylor/Willett Family Tree at Ancestry.com)
