OBITUARY. - The grave has closed over the remains of BENJAMIN A. SMITH, at the mature age of 64 years. He lived long enough to crown his dearest wishes of seeing his family at adult age, and the solace of his declining life. Mr. Smith was an honored citizen, a true friend - philanthropic, modest, courteous and just. His kind and gentle nature shed a holy influence over his home and kindred. His last, long illness proved the religious bent and fortitude of his soul. His tranquil and gentle spirit, under the tortures of earth, displayed the holy resignation of the martyred saint, who looks with a bland and subdued excitation at the hope of joining the hierarchy of angels.
