Mary Veatch (above) third child of Nathan Veatch and Elizabeth Craig, married Aug. 22, 1799, in Tennessee, Benjamin Shields. It was on the same date that Martha, her sister, married Joseph, presumably his brother, and no doubt at a double wedding.

They too moved to Harrison County, Ind., in 1811.

Benjamin Shields died there May 10, 1819.

His family moved to Fulton County, Ill., in 1834. ...
