  • Nicholas' brother Little Page Proctor was born in November 1760 prior to the family's move to Rowan County, North Carolina, so Benjamin was likely born closer to late 1761 or early 1762. This is also indicated in the Revolutionary Pension Service declaration of their older brother Nicholas Proctor, born in 1756, who stated: he was "born 1756 in Brunswick County, Virginia; moved at age 5-6 to Rowan County, North Carolina", which places the family's move to North Carolina in abt. 1761 or 1762 during the Indian unrest in much of Colonial Virginia, a likely reason for their migration.
