In Portville, Cattaraugus Co., N. Y., July 9th, 1872, after an illness of less than three days, Benj. C. Maxson, in the 84th year of his age. The deceased was born in Rhode Island, and lived there until about the year 1817, when he removed with his family to Truxton, Cortland, Co., N. Y., where he united with the Seventh-day Baptist Church, and where he lived until 1831, when he removed to the town of Genesee, Allegany County, where he lived until the Spring of 1871, when he removed across the line into Portville, where he died in the hope of a peaceful rest beyond the grave.
