The Johnson's & Lambertson's setteled in Jachson Township, Jackson County, IA in 1843, from Moores Hill, Dearborn, IN, approx 4 miles SW of Bellevue in sec 2 of Jackson Township. Capt Johnson was in the War of 1812 and a son of a veteran of the Revolution, was a member of the large landholding French Hugenot family of that name of the Eastern Shore MD.

According to J. Mark Lambertson: Archibald & William Lambertson & Ashley Field served in the Union Army from Jackson County during the Civil War abt 1871 the families of Benjamin Jan, Mary Rececca Y William all removed to various parts of KS., Archiebald, Levi, Thomas & Margarey took up homes in Clinton Clounty, IA & Charlotte moved to Winterset, IA.

Notes from; Book; Lambertson and Allied Families pg47A - In 1842 Benjamin P. Lambrtson and his first wife, Mary Ann Morgan, with his parents, brothers and sisters, and his grandparents (Johnson), went down the Ohio River by flat boat to Cairo, then up the Mississippi Riover to Belevue, Jackson County, Iowa. They setteled in Christian Valley, 5 or 6 miles southeast of Bellevue. Benjamine had logging contracts on the island in the Missippi River, near Bellevue, and did quite well. In 1871 Benjamin and his family moved to Lawrence, KS.
