"Benjamin (Haskell), son of the original settler, was born about 1648. He married, Nov. 21, 1677, Mary, daughter of Thomas Riggs. She died Jan. 29, 1698. The date of his death is not known; but his age, at his decease, was ninety-two. His will was proved May 25, 1741. He was often a selectman, representative in 1706 and 1707, and deacon of both the First and Second Churches many years. The sons who survived him were Benjamin, Josiah, Thomas, and William."

"Benjamin Haskell, son of William and Mary (Tybbot), was born, probably, in 1648. He married, Nov. 21, 1677, Mary Riggs, who was born in Gloucester, Mass., March 6, 1659, daughter of Thomas and Mary (Millit) Riggs; and by her, he had, probably, five sons and four daughters; she died Jan. 29, 1698. He married secondly, June 10, 1698. in Beverly, Mass., Emma Bond, of Beverly. Mass., by whom he had, probably, no children. Benjamin Haskeli died, probably, in 1740.
Benjamin Haskell was a 'housewright;' often one of the selectmen of Gloucester, Mass.; a representative to the General Court, 1701-1707; and deacon of both the First and Second Churches, Gloucester, Mass., for many years. Benjamin Haskell's will was proved May 25, 1741."
