According to 'Descendants of Benjamin Harris Jr.", Benjamin first married Elizabeth B. Deweese and had children William B. 1820 and Nancy Jane 1822-1912 m. Isaac Harvey Schenk. He married Mahala Smith in 1826 and had children Amanda 1827 m1 Kendall Shankland and m(2) Enos Gill; James W. (1828- ) m. Margaret Caitlin; Andrew Jackson (1829-1890) m.  "Near Williamsport, Warren County, Ind., Mr. Lewis was united in marriage with Artemisa Harris, a native of Marion county, Ind.and daughter of Benjamin Harris, who came from Kentucky to Indiana, locating in Marion county, and afterward removing to Boone and Warren counties. In the 1850 census for Steuben, Warren Co., Indiana, they are listed as "Benjamin Harris 50, Farmer, $500, born Kentucky; Mahala 32 KY; James W. 22 IN, Farmer; Andrew 19 IN, Farmer; and Artimetia 13 IN."  In the 1860 census for Middlefork, Vermillion Co., Illinois, he is living next to his daughter Artemissa and her husband Abraham Lewis. A. B. Lewis is 38 farmer from Indiana; with Melissa 23 IN; Willis 6 IN; William 4 Illinois and Matthew 2 IL. Benj. Harris is 63, minister from Virginia; with Mahala 62 Kentucky; and J.
