Will of "Benjamin Dexter of Rochester ... Yeoman", dated 15 Aug 1732, proved 4 Nov 1734, names sons Noah, James ["all the Lands of all Sorts which descended from the Rev'd Mr Samuel Arnold or Rochester his Grandfather to my Wife & Me and also that which descended from our brother John Arnold to us", requiring quitclaim of his other children that were heirs of his wife to James or they lose £60], Benjamin, Josiah, Samuel, Ephraim, Daniel ["Land which was my s'd Wifes his mothers by a deed or Conveyance from her Hon'd Father Arnold", requiring a quitclaim by brothers and sisters or they lose £30], Seth, Constant; Daughters Sarah, Joanna; Sons Samuel, Ephraim and Seth to be joint executors.

  3.   Source:Otis, Amos. Genealogical Notes of Barnstable Families, p. 325, says Benjamin "removed to Rochester, married Mary Miller of Rochester July 17, 1695". The marriage record in Rochester says Mary Miller married Thomas Dexter. No marriage record for Benjamin is found, nor is the mother named on any of the births of his children. According his will, Benjamin's son James, b. 1698, is a grandson of Rev. Samuel Arnold. Noah, born in 1697, is the only child between Otis' 1695 marriage to Mary Miller and the birth of James who was a known Arnold grandchild, and since Noah is born just 16 months before James, it seems improbable that Benjamin had any other wife than Sarah Arnold, especially given that the record contradicts him.
