↑ Newspapers.com offers a partial obituary of Benjamin Conant that appears to say he m. (2) 1861 Miss Marcia Guernsey of Montpelier. This is at least partially wrong, in that in 1870 Miss Guernsey was still unmarried and living with her mother (line 8). by 1880, while she was still living with her mother, she seems to have acquired the surname of Conant (line 12), but no evidence of any marriage or of her actual husband has been located.
