At the time of his enlistment, his physical description is as follows: Height 5 feet 8 inches. Complexion - light; Eyes - grey, Hair - Brown.

Developed Nasal Catarrh and was treated by Dr. W. J. McKnight of Brookville, Pa. He also took various patented remedys for the catarrh - Hotchkiss's Specific. Eds Sarsaprilla, and Ely's Cream Balm. This was obtained from the Pension records from the National Archives.

  1. Benjamin was discharged in Richmond Virginia on 6/28/1865. Ben was wounded in the head (from affidavits) at the Battle of Appomattox Court House on April 9, 1865. there are no military records of such a wound.
