"… Benjamin Brown, the son of Benjamin and Abigail (Cleveland) Brown. He was born about April 1732/3 at Canterbury, Conn, and died January 1, 1792 (or 1798) at Canterbury, Conn. … Benjamin Brown was living in the house of his grandfather, Josiah Cleveland, at the latter's death. In 1751 he is called 'the minor son of Mrs. Abigail Adams' and in her will was called 'eldest son'. Benjamin's will was dated Nov. 28, 1791 and probated Feb. 7, 1792."

This Benjamin's father is almost certainly the Benjamin born 1 September 1713 at Canterbury, son of Deacon Thomas and Rachel (Leavens) Brown. There is no indication that that Benjamin Brown and Abigail Cleaveland were ever married.
