- ↑ At this time, it is unclear who Belinda's mother is. Elijah Seavey, s/o Moses, b. 1779, m. (1) 1803 Lucy Bassett, m. (2) Mary (Meserve) Harriman, widow of Hubbard C. Harriman. The death record of Lucy B George in 1884, age 63, works out to a birth in 1821, and lists her mother as Mary Meserve. But that does not make it clear who Belinda's mother in 1815 might have been. Chances are Lucy B (presumably for Bassett) was the first daughter of the new wife, but no record supporting that hypothesis can be found, i.e., no death record for Lucy, no death record for Hubbard Harriman, no marriage record for Elijah and Belinda, nor any birth records for any child by any wife. And Belinda's death record only names her father. John and Belinda did not name any children such as to offer any clues, either. And while Source:Wentworth, John. Wentworth Genealogy, p. 2:672, gives her names as Belinda Bassett Seavey (presumably the source of information given by Find A Grave), but the contemporary records only seem to give a middle initial, and one wonders if there is a possibility that her middle name was actually Bassett?
