   His birth date is given as 15 Aug 1826 in many trees, but there doesn't appear to be a source for this date. Since he has often been confused with his brother Bedford and assigned a birth date of 15 Aug 1832, it is not clear whether the month and day belong to Thomas's birth date or Bedford's birth date.
