Beatrice Mae "Bea" Stahl Hissem, 90, of Normalville, passed away peacefully, Wed. Jan. 9, 2019 at the home of her daughter Carol and her grandson Chase, with whom she had been residing. She was born April 14, 1928 in Jones Mills a daughter of the late Harry F. and Clara Kalp Stahl.She was a graduate of the former Ramsay High School in Mt. Pleasant with the class of 1946. She was a Life member of the Roadman and White American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and served as it's past president, treasurer, secretary, membership chairman, and parliamentarian. She was also past president and secretary of the Westmoreland County Salon 188 and was a member of the Mt. Pleasant VFW. Beatrice was a member of the Grace Baptist Church where she had served as the church pianist.In addition to her parents Beatrice was predeceased by her husband A. Jay Hissem in 1991, her sons Robert Hissem and Winfield Hissem, her companion Charles Achtzehn, her sister Helen Fencil, her son-in-law Gary G. Smith, and her grandson Chad G. Smith.
Beatrice will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her loving children James Hissem and wife Verna of Normalville, Joyce Frederick and husband Timothy of Glenmoore, Patty Lander and husband Bert of Newville, Linda Richter and husband Pete of Normalville, B. Jayne Smith of Canton, GA., Beverly Keyser and husband Larry of Scottdale, and Carol Shreve and Scott of Normalville, her 30 grandchildren, and her numerous great grandchildren. Beatrice was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Family and friends will be received Fri. from 6-8 PM and Sat. from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Clyde Brooks Funeral Home Inc., at the corner of route 711 and 146 Municipal Building Rd. , Melcroft (724-455-2310) where a Funeral Service will be held Sun. at 11:00 AM, with Pastor William Nicholson officiating.
