Beatrice Mary DAVIDSON was born 28nov1892 at Woodburn, Hamilton, Lanarkshire, daughter of Mark George Davidson, Sherriff substitute, and Beatrice Sarah Spens Davidson nee Black, who married 23jul1886 at Edinburgh (scotlandspeople). Her name changed later to Beatrix. 4nov1927: engagement announced of Commander Bernard Wilberforce GREATHED and Beatrix Mary, only daughter of Mark George Davidson of Ruchill, Guildford (Times). 6jun1928: their marriage was planned for 11jun1928; the marriage took place11jun1928 at Lyons, France, of Commander Bernard Wilberforce Greathed, RN, and Beatrix Mary, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark George Davidson, Ruchill, Guildford (Times, 15jun1928). Bernard and Beatrix and their nephew Edward sailed on the Queen Elizabeth which sailed on 4 May 1947 from Southampton arriving in New York on 9 June 1947. They were described as diplomatic and gave their previous permanent address as Bath, England (www.greathead.org). In 1953 Bernard and Beatrix announced their silver wedding from their address Abernethy, Nethy Bridge, Invernessshire (Times). Rear Admiral Bernard Wilberforce Greathed, CB, died at Berwick, 19jun1961 aged 69, husband of Jenny (?); born 5nov1891, he was the son of E. A. Greathed; he had no children, served in WW1 and WWII at the Admiralty (Times).
