From Family Notes, author unknown "He was a native of Scotland, came to Georgia about 1760 and was a business partner of the Telfair brothers. An early and prominent Patriot at the beginning of the Revolution, he turned to the British side and subsequently went into exile with his property confiscated. He died in Jamaica in 1802."
