Dear Madam:

 Referance is made to your request for the record of Barzillai Knight, a soldier of the Revolution.

 The data which follow were obtained from papers on file in the pension claim W.13592, based upon the military service of Barsillai or Barsillah Knight.

 He was the son of Richard Knight. The date and place of his birth are not given.

 He enlisted and served as private with the Rhode Island troops as follows: from April, 1775, eight or nine months in Captain Talbot's company in Colonel Hitchcock's regiment: from October, 1777, served in Captain William Field's company and was in General Spencer's Rhode Island Expedition, length of service not given: from March, 1778, one month in Captain William Field's company in Colonel Barton's regiment; from June,1778, one month in Captain Jonathan Knight's (not stated he was related to Barsillai Knight) company in Colonel Lippitt's regiment.

 Barsillai or Barsillah Knight married February 8, 1776, at Cranston, Providence County, Rhode Island, Eleaner Carpenter and both were then living in Cranston.

 He died March 20, 1821

 His widow, Eleanor, was allowed pension on her application executed July 6, 1838, at which time she was eighty years of age and was living in Johnston,Providence County,Rhode Island.

 She died August 24, 1844

 In 1836 on Sheldon Knight was justice of peace in Cranston,Rhode Island, and one Charles Knight was living in Johnston,Rhode Island, but it was not stated that they were related to the soldier.
