Sponsors: Michel CHARTIER & Marguerite BOILEAU (wife of Sr. de SAINT-AUBIN). He married (Port Royal Register) 21 Apr 1721 to Marguerite DUGAS, daughter of Claude & Marguerite BOURG. On the census of 1736 in the village of Sainte-Anne at Riviere Saint Jean, where they settled, he has 2 other sons and 3 other daughters, whose names are not mentioned. Of Port Royal, Acadia, he was captured by the English at River St. Jean; some members of this family were kept prisoners at Halifax until the peace treaty of 1763. They settled in Louisiana, where their [sic] names are indicated on the 1766 census at St. James, on the Mississippi. Also on p. 2418 (Louisiana): Barthelémy BERGERON dit DAMBOISE, born 1698, son of Barthelemy & Genevieve SERREAU dit SAINT-AUBIN, he married at Port Royal on 21 Apr 1721 to Marguerite DUGAS, daughter of Claude & Marguerite BOURG; four children (but on the 1736 census at the village St. Anne, on the river St. Jean, where he had settled, there were two other sons and three other daughters, whose names are not mentioned.) Barthelemy d'Amboise, born 1698, son of Barthelemy & Genevieve SERREAU dit SAINT-AUBIN (arp. 348 Beausejour, Acadia). He married on 21 Apr 1721 at Port Royal [Acadia] to Marguerite DUGAS, daughter of Claude D. & 1st wife Marguerite BOURG. He died at Attakapas Poste [LA] on 30 Oct 1765 according to registers of St. Martinville, LA. [This was probably his son Barthelemy III, since his widow remarried soon.] Corrections were sent by Clarence T. BREAUX, a descendant through this Bartelemy & Marguerite DUGAS, published in LES VOYAGEURS; vol. VI, no. 2 (Jun 1985); p. 90. He lived at 219 West Gatehouse Drive, Metairie LA 70001.
