Facts and Events
Barry's ashes were scattered to the winds over the Pacific Ocean. Barry "never met a stranger". He loved people, especially oldsters and all animals. He taught his cousin, Corey Janene MARENTETTE, how to write her first name in cursive before the rest of her class got beyond printing. He also gave her his stamp collection from up in the family attic on Millard, in Royal Oak. He found a miniature metal sewing machine for her when she was young. He also let her use his pogo stick, stilts, hoola hoop and metal clamp-on-over-the-shoe roller skates. In the school woodshop he designed and constructed a modern style teak wood grandfather clock, which his mother proudly displayed on the lower stair landing, just a few steps away from the front door of the house on Crooks Road in Royal Oak. He made an enameled copper pendant for Corey. He got into a lot of mischief during his troubled life. He would steal money from his mother's purse and smile sweetly at her while he denied it. His childhood bedroom was full of Mad comic books. Barry liked to draw those caricatures of race car drivers with bulging bloodshot eyes and fancy hot rods. Barry was once a part (possibly the manager) of a rock-and-roll musical band called Scott Richard Case Group. Two of their songs were: "Sky Pilot" and "I'm So Glad". They used to drive around in a hearse. Barry had a dog he used to put sunglasses on and let sit in the front seat. Barry once wrote a letter to Corey (the only one) while she was living on Lemcool Rd, Grawn, MI (1979-1984) enclosing a dried rattle from a snake. References
