THERE IS SO MUCH INFO ABOUT THIS MAN, I DECIDED TO PUT A FEW DIFFERENT VERSIONS IN. LIEUTENANT BARNHART CCLINE (commonly known as "Barmy, "Berny" or "Barnhardt") was born on December 16, 1756, probably in Upper Milford Twp Northampton CO Pa, and died near what is now Kratzerville, Pa., on August 3.1837. His wife, Margaret , was born on February 6, 1761, and died on December 20, 1850. Both are buried in the old Lutheran and Reformed cemetery in Kratzerviile, and their graves are marked. The federal census of 1790, states that he lived in To-wamensink, Twp Northampton CO in that year, and his family consisted of one mnlc over and three under .10 years, and four females. John and Frederick, whor lived in the same township'at that time, were probaoly his brothers. He settled in what is now Jackson, but then Penn Twp Snyder County, some time before 1800. It's believed that he was a son, or grandson, of the Barnhart Kline, who sailed for America from Rotterdam, Holland in the British r.hip "Lydia," landed at Philadelphia, and tookiiie English oath of allegiance there en September 29, 1741. On January 1, 1786. he was granted a warrant of survey for 25 acres in Northampton CO and his name appeared on the Upper Milford Township tax lists of 1785, and 1786. The known and supposed children of Barnhurt and his wife were: Barnhart, Jr., (who. settled near Clyde or Bellevue, OH. Margaret, 1792-1871 , (who married Squire Jacob F. Hummel): Fanny, January 22, 1798-January 25, 1888 (who married Jonas Sassaman, Sr., and lived in what is now Jackson Township of Snyder CO and Henry. August 26, 18??-September 17, 1883 (who lived in Jackson Township). Most of the above people are interred in the Kratzerville Cemetery. The Revolutionary service -of this pioneer was long and varied. In 1775, he was a private in Captain Abraham Milller's Company. On May 14, 1778, he was a Second Lieutenant of the 3rd Company, 4th Battalion of the Nor- thampton CO Militia. On September 28th, 1782, Captain Peter Roods (probably Rhoads) certified that Barbard Kline was on Frontier Duty seven days during the month of March, 1782.
