Charles County Land Records 1786-1790; Liber D#4; Page 109. Mar 2, 1787 from Cornelius Barber of St. Mary's County, to Thomas Fowler of CC, for 5 shillings. Whereas by deed from Cornelius Barber and Rebecca, his wife, to Edward Barber, decd, and father to Barnet White Barber heir, dated Dec 8, 1789, for part of a tract of land called Batchelors Delight, in CC on Piccawaxont Cr, by the courses of sd deed for the part of the sd land, there was a mistake made in extending the 11th line beyond the eastern bounds of the sd whole tract, by which the 20 acres intended for the north end of the afd part, appears to be out of the bounds of the sd tract, in consideration whereof, the sd Cornelius Barber agrees to make good the afd 20 acres, Barnet White Barber, heir of the sd Edward Barber, decd, in such a manner as the same, to lay within the bounds of the sd tract, And whereas Barnet White Barber, heir of the sd Edward Barber, has sold the sd tract of land to the afd Thomas Fowler, and has given the sd Thomas Fowler a deed, specially defending the sd Fowler from him and from his brother, Luke Barker [sic], to whom sd parcel of land was bequeathed by the afd Edward Barber, decd, and all persons claiming under him or his brother Luke Barber, to be sd Thomas Fowler's sole right forever, now it is thought fit and determined that the sd insertion is necessary to make plain and illustrate the above mistake, that in future no dispute may arise, relative to the aforementioned 20 acres of land to be the right of the sd Thomas Fowler. Signed - Cornelius Barber, Rebec Barber. Wit J. Parnham*, Bent Dyson*. Afd Rebecca 'Barber, relinquished her right of dower to the within mentioned land. Recorded Aug 25, 1787.
