"Barbara Wardwell, 65, formerly of Windham died Saturday in a Westbrook health care and rehabilitation facility. She was born here, a daughter of Stanley J. and Georgiana Pomerleau-Buote, graduated from Westbrook High School and completed a certified nurses course at Westbrook College. She most recently worked for Pratt-Abbott for several years in a variety of capacities. She also worked as a sorter at S.D. Warren Paper Co. and in the housekeeping department at Maine Medical Center for several years. She spent time camping and doing needlework. Her husband of 24 years, Robert Wardwell, died previously. Surviving are a son, Stanley Googins of Wrightstown, N.J.; a stepson, Donald Wardwell of Lewiston; a daughter, Julie A. Peterson of Westbrook; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandson. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in St. Hyacinth Cemetery. Arrangements are by Blais Funeral Home. -Portland Press Herald 29 November 1999
