Aulta Marie Barnhart was born on September 8, 1908, in Tuscumbia, Mo., to Lindsey E. and Rosa Mae Barnhart and died August 8, 1981, in Brea, Calif. Most of her childhood years were spent in that area and Granite City, Ill.
As a young adult she lived and worked in St. Louis and on August 1, 1925, she was united in marriage to Kirby Lawrence Kimrey. They later made their home on a farm near Roby where they raised their two daughters. Mr. Kimrey preceded her in death in 1960 and Mrs. Kimrey made her home in Houston and later in Lebanon.
In 1974 she was married to Marion J. Burnett. He preceded her in death in 1975.
Mrs. Burnett moved to Brea, Calif. in 1978 to be near a daughter and family, and to enjoy a milder climate.
She was employed as a tailer for the U.S. Army at Fort Leonard Wood and retired in 1968. She was active in Order of Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron of the Mary S. Chapter in Houston. Upon her retirement she was active in the NARFE (National Association of Retired Federal Employees) and served one term as president of the Lebanon Missouri Chapter.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sadie Hildebrand.
Survivors include two daughters, LaVeta Brill of Brea, Calif. and Doris Montgomery of Houston; five grandchildren and a sister, Gertrude Gray of Newhall, Calif.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 12 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Mrs. Sadie Miles and Robert Seath officiating. Burial in the Pilot Knob Cemetery near Roby.
