Facts and Events
Renneworth was an Indian Civil Servant. From 1856 he served in the subordinate executive service for Bengal. By 1870 he had been created Superintendent of Abkari Revenue (this was the duty levied on the sale of distilled alcoholic drinks). He then became the Officiating Assistant Secretary of the Govt. of Bengal the year later. From 1878 Renneworth served in the Judicial Department and was appointed Judge at Sealdah in 1881.He became the Director of the Stamps and Stationery Department in 1890 and retired from the service in 1889. |
