    Aubrey J. Shelton, 60, died June 17 at West Memphis. He was a member of the Church of Christ, a veteran of World War II, a member of the American Legion, and a former member of the Steele City Council.

    Funeral services were held Friday, June 20, at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Christ in Steele with Mr. Brooks C. Webb officiating. Interment was in the Mount Zion Cemetery with John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge.

    He leaves his wife, Evelyn Thompson Shelton; one son, Larry J. Shelton of West Memphis; three daughters, Mrs. Onita Ledford of Steele, Mrs. Carol Gallaher of Allen Park, Mich., and Mrs. Delores Pfeffer of Ellisville, Mo.; one brother, Joe Max Shelton of Memphis; and four grandchildren.

    Active pallbearers were Phillip Koury, John D. Holt, Clell Waldrop, Luke Howell, John Oates, and W. A. Oates. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Lawrence, Lloyd Booker, and B. J. Pounds.
