[Note: the will mentions a couple of times "my four Sons" but only three are named. This is the copy recorded in the county books. Not clear if the copying was faulty or somehow the fourth son was left out of the will.]

Vol. 3, p. 546 Undated [considered 24 Feb 1808]: Petition of Esther Rice, widow of Capt Asa Rice, that she is left with six small children, the youngest not yet two, requires selected articles from personal estate for her support. Granted.

Vol. 10, p. 123 3 Jan 1821 : Esther Rice of Guilford minor above 14 heir to Asa Rice late of Guilford deceased and chose Isaac Barber to be her guardian.
