WINDHAM - Arthur G. Wardwell, 73, of Albion Rd., died Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at the Barron Center after a battle with Cancer. He was born in Portland on Feb. 3, 1931, a son of Edward and Louise LeVallee Wardwell. He attended Portland Schools, and served in the U.S. Army. He worked for many years for Coles Express driving trucks and attaining a two million mile award retiring after 36 years. He was a member of Harold T. Andrews American Legion Post # 17 and enjoyed attending its national conferences. He was also a member Voiture 1003, Cumberland County, LaSociete et 40-8. He was predeceased by his wife, Teresa Croy Wardwell, and a son, David A. Wardwell. He is survived by a son, Michael A. Wardwell and his wife, Christin; grandsons, Ben and Alan Wardwell all of Raymond; two brothers, Frederick and Charles Wardwell; two sisters, Hazel Wardwell and Louise Smith. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, March 5, from 7-9 p.m. at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Rd., Windham where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, South Portland. -Portland Press Herald 06 March 2004
