“Memorandum That on or about [1 February 1701] Arthur Temple late of Stowe in the County of Bucks gent deceased then lyeing sick of the sickness whereof he dyed Mr William Mason his Apothecary apprehending the said deceased's condition to be very dangerous did acquaint him therewith and withall asked the said deceased whether he intended to make a Will to which the said deceased answered that he did and thereupon the said Mr Mason desired the persons then present to take notice of what the said deceased was then about to utter ... (in the house of Sr Richard Temple Baronett his Brother at Stowe aforesaid being his usueall habitation or dwelling)....” He bequeathed all of his personal estate to his brother Henry Temple. He mentioned “the Thousand pound which was left him by the last Will and Testament of Sr Richard Temple Baronett his Father deceased”. Wits. Mary Temple his sister, the said William Mason, Elizabeth Pears, Elizabeth Druce (her mark), and Mary Druce (her mark). Probate dated 18 May 1702.
