Arthur Shoener- GARRETT - Arthur C Shoener, 63, died at noon Wednesday in his home on 313 S. Cowen St. Garrett. Death was attributed to a heart attack. He had been ill one year. Mr Shoener was a retired Baltimore and Ohio Railroad engineer, a World War II veteran, and a 44 year resident of Garrett. He was a member of the Garrett Masonic Lodge, Brotherhood Lodge of Engineers, and United Methodist Church, Garrett. He was born April 13, 1912 in Oskaloosa, Iowa, and Married Lois A Lehner, who survives, on Nov 14, 1942 in Kendallville. Other survivors include: two daughters, Mrs Tony Steinmetz, Fort Wayne, and Mrs Gary Hicks, Milwaukee, WI.; two sons, Arthur, Chester, IL and Frank E, University of Evansville; a brother Paul, Hinsdale, Ill.; and three sisters, Mrs. F. A. Hall, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Mrs. Willard Hadley, Glenview, Ill., and Mrs. Louie Fanter, East Moline, Ill. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday in McKee Funeral Home. Rev. Ronald Bowman, pastor of the United Methodist Church at Garrett, will officiate. Burial will be at Chistian Union Cemetery, with Military graveside services performed by the Garrett American Legion Post. Friends may call at the funeral after 1 P.M. Friday. Masonic services will be held at 7:30 P.M. Friday.
