Hello Coleen,

I do not have your Schlafke name in my genealogybut I do have a good collection of films on Ashtabula County at my local LDSlibrary. I went today and looked in the Marriage Index for 1911-1940 and foundsome Schlafke names. Remember this is just an index. The records would be inthe County Court House in Jefferson, OH. LDS does have Ashtabula Co. marriageson film but Volume S is the last one. I found an Arthur & Clarence in this film but didn't find a Hazel.

Marriages during these years do have personal information in the records. I would get theses records for you if I were in Ashtabula Co. but we are in WA State. Maybe there is someone there who will helpwith that since you will have the volumes and page numbers.

I checked around in the census and did find Arthur in 1930 in Warren, Trumbull Co., OH. He was 40yr., b. OH., md. to Harriet who was 30yr. b. NY, and they had a son, Gordon 12 and a daughter Helen 10. If you don't have this and would like it, I can scan and send it to you. It says his father was born in United States and his mother in Canada English. He was an electrician for houses. He married when he was 26 and Harriet was 16.
