Rockwood, 68, 651 3rd Ave. N., a retired rural mail carrier, died at 6:22 Sunday morning at Riverview Hospital, where he had been admitted Saturday evening. He had been in failing health for several years. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Interment is to take place in Forest Hill Cemetery. Mr. Rockwood was born in Stevens Point on June 17, 1886, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Rockwood, and had been a resident of the area all his life. He served as a rural mail carrier out of the Wisconsin Rapids post-office over 32 years, retiring in 1946. He was married to Ethel Spear on Oct. 23, 1938, at Plainfield. Survivors include his wife; one son, Lyle; three daughters, Mrs. Russell Johnson, Mrs. Herbert Niemann and Mrs. Elmer Simolke, all of Wisconsin Rapids; one brother, Fred Dixon, Ill., and seven grandchildren. |
