Arthur was a twin birth. He suffered oxygen deprivation and was slightly retarded, but lead a productive life. His sisters Clara and Marie were born deaf-mute. They both led productive lives. They worked and lived in their family home, together with Arthur and other sister Blanche. Blanche never married. She lived at the family home, taking care of her siblings and mother as she got older. Arthur was the last surviving of them, and so went to live in a retirement facility.
