Arthur Newbury Died Early Thursday Was Former Mnager of Newbury Iron Works; Funeral Sunday

Arthur Newbury, 61 years old, former manager of the Newbury Iron Foundry in Coxsackie, died at his home in the village during an attack of asthma at his home in this village about 8:30 Thursday morning. He had been confined to his bed for two weeks. Mr. Newbury was a popular man in the village, and his sudden death came as a shock to his many friends. Coxsackie was his birth place and he had lived here all his life. He was born September 27, 1875, the son of James G. and Isabella Mackey Newbury. He married Miss Myrtle Applebee, also of Coxsackie. The Newbury Iron Works were founded on South River Street by his father. Arthur Newbury was associated with him until the elder Newbury's death, when he assumed management of the works for the estate. The foundry operated until a few years ago, when its doors were closed. Mr. Newbury was a charter member of the Coxsackie Rod & Rifle Club. He is survived by his widow, and a daughter, Miss Dorothy Newbury; also a sister, Mrs. Richard Beach of Poughkeepsie, and a brother, Irving Newbury, of Coxsackie. Funeral services will be held at the home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Howard C. Shade, officiating. Interment will be in Riverside cemetery under the direction of W. C. Brady's Sons, Inc.
