“Obituary Arthur T. Jackson WATERFORD — Arthur T. Jackson, 82, of 1 Highland Drive died Sunday [i.e. Sunday, July 20, 1969] at the Mary Kennedy Convalescent Hospital, after a brief illness. He was born Oct. 18, 1886, in Youngsville, Pa., the son of Edward M. and Nellie McKinney Jackson. He lived in Waterford since 1924 and was employed as a painter for local contractors until his retirement 15 years ago. He married the former Rose Behrman, who died in 1961. He had been a member of the Union Lodge of Masons and the Elks Lodge in New London. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. William Gallup and Mrs. Grover Page, both of Waterford; a brother Archie Jackson of Youngsville, Pa.; a sister, Mrs. Laverne Johnson also of Youngsville; three grandchildren; and one great great grand-child [Note: this is verbatim, but perhaps it should be “great grandchild” and not “great great grandchild”]. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Alderson and Prentis Funeral Service, 181 Ocean Ave., New London. Burial will be in Jordan Cemetery, Waterford.”
