Facts and Events
Arthur was headmaster at Unley Primary School from 1941 to 1954. E. L. Crowe says in the school centenary magazine on page 19: "I was appointed an assistant at the Unley Primary School in January 1946 and left there in May 1954. On my arrival Unley was a class one Primary School and Mr. A. P. C. Hart, the smallest man in the Education Department was the Headmaster. "APC" as he was affectionately known by the staff, was only small in the physical sense, for not only was he active on the Teachers' Union executive and in Departmental matters, but also was involved on many local committees and was a keen Rotarian. He retired a little over halfway through my term at Unley and was followed by Mr. Cyril Wright as headmaster." (1879 - 1979 The Years Between, Unley Primary School Centenary) Arthur Philip Clarendon's wife was the first president of the Unley Primary Parents Association from 1941 to 1952. |
