ARTHUR JAY CHAPMAN - Arthur J. Chapman, 89, of Marseilles RFD 2, died at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, in Rivershores Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Seals-Campbell Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Lorin Harrison of the Marseilles Congregational Church officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Visitation was to be from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral chapel. Mr. Chapman was born November 1, 1887, in Miller Township to Hosmer and Clara(Snider) Chapman. In 1909 he married Martha Crumrine who preceded him in death in 1923. Survivors include two sons, Rex and Wayne, both of Marseilles and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son and one sister. He was a farmer all his life and was Miller Township road commissioner for 19 years. He was one of the founders of Union National Bank in Marseilles and was an honorary director when he died.
