    "5. … Arthur (Bostock), bapt. (Tarporley) 21 Dec. 1603 (not 22 Dec as in the 'Bostwick Genealogy,' p. 32). … of Tarporley, co. Chester, and Stratford, Connecticut, … was a yeoman, and resided at Tarporley until after 1638. He emigrated to New England about 1639-40, and is stated to have been one of the earliest settlers of Stratford, Conn. He removed to Southampton, L. I., about 1643, and returned to Stratford before 1649. The date of his death is not known, but it was apparently about 1680/1."

Settled in Stratford before 1650. … John Bostwick on 4 Feb. 1677/8 recorded land he had by gift from his father Arthur Bostwick and by exchange with his mother Ellen Bostwick, also by purchase from Mr. John Welles. In New Haven records, Apr. 1663, Thomas Johnson claimed a debt on behalf of 'his father in law Bausticke of Stratford.'" [Johnson had married Ellen, daughter of Arthur Bostwick by his first wife, and subsequently removed to Newark, N. J.]
