Served in the US Army during the Spanish-American War. Heenlisted May 18, 1898 in Co. I, 4th Regiment VirginiaVolunteers, for 2 years or for the duration of the war. Thisservice was commanded by Capt. CC Vaughn, Jr. and saw servicein Cuba. He recieved his honorable discharge when the regimentwas mustered out of U.S. service and it shows that he was notwounded in action, citing his service as sincere, honest andfaithful.

Made his home at Halifax, and later moved to Princeton, WVA
