Rognes was/is the name of a farm which is in the parish of Støren [Stoeren] (which is also a community). The current kommune is Midtre Gauldal. Soergarden would be the specific Rognes farm - it would be on the south side of the Gaula river. My ancestors started out there. The last ones on Rognes of my relatives crossed the river to northern Rognes farm called Rogneslien. It was on the side of a hill, facing the river. I list a place as "Sorgarden Rognes, Støren, Sor-Trondelag, Norway" (but I use the correct Norwegian characters for all, not like I just did). Linda schwartz email august 16, 2003
