He was born Oct. 28, 1925, in Corning, N.Y., and came to Port Charlotte 14 years ago from Bath, N.Y. He retired in 1983 as senior production engineer for North American Phillips Corp., formerly Westinghouse Electric. He graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology and was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post 110 and First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Sally Stage; a daughter, Denise S. Ralston of Bath; a son, Dennis A. of Orlando; two sisters, Frances I. Livermore of Tamarac and Barbara Bryant of Santa Clara, Calif.; a twin brother, Archie Ervin of Calabash, N.C.; and nine grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church and at 2 p.m. Sunday at the American Legion Post 110. Burial will be in Painted Post, N.Y. National Cremation Society, Port Charlotte chapter, is in charge.
